Below are just some of HCUK Training success stories
I started my career path on The Traineeship course at HCUK Training
It taught me the key values employers are looking for in employees, with units covering all the areas employers want you know. They included Personal Presentation, The Health and Safety at Work Act and how to write Cover and Speculative Letters! How to Budget money (getting to and from work) and Job/Apprenticeship searching, also how to fill out a job application properly - These was just a few of many different units we covered to get me Apprenticeship ready!
3 months on I’m on an Audio Production Apprenticeship and I’m grateful for the hard work the tutors but in to pave my way to success covering all the areas in 3 months that I never learnt in 12 school years.
Not only was The Traineeship course informative… It was fun.
The social side of The Traineeship course was great too, I made friends and gained confidence which I can use in work when talking to people.
I would defiantly recommend HCUK’s Traineeship Course.
My journey started with me moving to Hull in mid-November in 2015, within weeks I had my interview to join the traineeship, and from there the staff assured me that I needn’t worry and that I shouldn’t be so nervous.
I had my doubts about joining the traineeship, thinking it wasn’t for me or that they couldn’t help me with what they had promised, exactly a year down the line and they helped me progress onto my new course, aiding me to gain the skills and confidence I was lacking when I joined them.
From the start I was encouraged to do well with the aim of progressing onto an apprenticeship or move on to further education. The course taught me progression and work skills, what employers look for in employees, and how to apply myself in a workplace, furthermore I was given the opportunity to put myself to the test with work experience that the college provided me with.
Since progressing on from the traineeship I have moved onto a new course within the college, doing really well I can see myself succeeding onto university in a few years, along with studying at college 3 days a week I am student union president, in my role I try to aid students across the Hull college group with the aim of enhancing college experience, making sure everyone is getting equal opportunities and making sure any problems students have are dealt with.
Whilst doing the traineeship programme I went on a work placement at Elm tree court. On starting my placement I lacked confidence and did not feel comfortable speaking to people I did not know. I have found I have learnt a lot of new skills and am able to overcome more challenging skills; I am a lot more confident to get on with people around me, I find communicating with others in the work place easier. When I first started my 12 weeks programme I was unsure of the benefits I would gain through attending this course. I have since gone on to secure myself an apprenticeship in my work placement, I attend college one day a week where I undertake classes in maths, English & health & social care, whereas one time I would not have thought this was achievable.
