Age Grants

The National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) will provide Grants to eligible employers for recruiting an apprentice aged 16-24.

Below you will find the basic information regarding grants your business could be entitled to when taking on new apprentices. We have a wealth of experience in supporting these matters and are always available to help you.

Who is eligible?

  • Company must recruit an apprentice aged 16-24 and who has lived in England for a minimum of three years.
  • The apprentice must not already be in education or have recently graduated from university.
  • The Company must employ less than 50 staff.
  • The company must not have had an apprentice start within the last 12 months if not previously claimed for an age grant.

What is the AGE grant payment to employers?

  • Each grant is worth £1,500 each
  • You can claim up to a maximum of 5 Grants
  • You do not have to wait 12 months between the first, and any subsequent Grant applications.
